GSM GPRS SIM800L Breakout

SIM800L breakout is small and inexpesive GSM sheild which can be easily interfaced with Arduino or any of your favourite micro-controllers to send/receive text messages, calls and even connecting to the Internet with with General Packet Radio Service(GPRS). GPRS is the second generation of telephony system, often reffered as 2G. Although the data rates are not high, it is perfect for senor data logging, device control make viableindependent and battery powered Internet of Things(IoT) devices. We have fully tested working of the SIM800L, the tutorials below show the basic and Internet access functionalities of the SIM800L.

Features:

  • Quad Band GSM, GPRS Module which works at 850MHz, 900MHz, 1800MHz and 1900MHz frequency bands
  • Power Input: 3.4v to 4.4v. Note that the module issues under and over voltage warnings if voltage provided to the module is not in the range. Recommeded to use a 3.7V batter or appropriate power supply.
  • GPRS data rate: 85.6kbps
  • Module Diemensions: 25mm x 23mm
